I explained the Windows installation procedure a bit here. If you use an outdated tool, you will end up with an outdated Windows version which causes problems later. It's very important to use the latest tool for creating the USB drive, because it will use the latest update of Win10/11, for example 22H2.

Freshly prepare a USB drive with it (obviously on a different PC), and then boot from it by pressing F11 for the boot menu after turning on the PC, and select the USB drive there. Then maybe set the fan curves, and then you can install Windows.įor that, you would download the latest Media Creation Tool (for Windows 10 or for Windows 11). Make sure not to enable 'Creator Genie', this function is useless, it will only lead to higher VCore and higher CPU power draw. As i said, in not even three years, we're all gonna have to go Win11 anyway.įirst, in the BIOS, enable XMP for the RAM to make it run at DDR5-6000. So set UEFI right away, and you might even want to install Win11 right away. So if you set CSM mode now, then in 2025, when the Win10 support ends and we all have to upgrade to Win11, you're gonna have a big problem. Obviously Win10/11 have no problem with UEFI, and Win11 even requires it. There is no need to set CSM mode (Compatibility Support Module), you only do that with old operating systems that don't work with UEFI.

It works fine with anything newer than Windows 7.
